Universities in Ho Chi Minh City HCM is preparing to organize school-level competitions for students, in order to compete in Robocon 2008 (Asia-Pacific robotics competition).
Next year the competition will be held in Pune, India, from August 29 to September 2, 2008, with the theme ' Govinda '.
According to the host organization, this theme is based on the myth of Lord Krishna and the Dahi - Handi festival, held annually in northern India. In his childhood, Krishna used to play pyramid-type games with his friends to get bottles of milk, butter and cheese hanging high on the wall. God Krichna is also called Govinda (winner).
At the 2008 Robocon, the two teams will use robots to score points by taking cubes and balls that represent butter, milk and cheese placed high ( photos ). Particularly, the team that gets 3 cubes at the same time and brings it up will score the absolute ' Govinda '.
