Preserving and developing Ngoc Linh ginseng in Kon Tum

On August 16, in Kon Tum City, Kon Tum Province had a meeting with the delegation of the Ministry of Science and Technology to find solutions to preserve and develop Ngoc Linh ginseng.

At the meeting, many delegates said Ngoc Linh ginseng is a precious ginseng, one of the four most precious ginsengs in the world with many very good uses for human health. Therefore, Kon Tum province in particular and Vietnam need to implement urgent solutions for Ngoc Linh ginseng to have a 'foothold' in the world.

Kon Tum province continues to cooperate with the Ministry of Science and Technology to implement the project 'perfecting the technological process of breeding, cultivating, expanding production, building and developing the national brand of Ngoc Linh ginseng' . This is also the project approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology with the investment policy in June 2013.

Accordingly, from now to 2022, the project will invest in science and technology to build and complete the breeding process to create a large number of seedlings, expected from 4-5 million seedlings / year; complete farming technology process and expand the area of ​​growing ginseng, by 2022 will reach 800-1,000 ha of ginseng.

Besides, the project also completed the process of processing technology, building a Ngoc Linh ginseng product processing factory; apply new technologies in harvesting, preserving and extracting to create high value products; building processing factories with modern technological processes, meeting consumer demand and export.

In addition, the Project also offers solutions to build and develop a national brand for products of Ngoc Linh ginseng and protected in the world; protect against counterfeiting for ginseng.

The project is divided into 3 phases with a total investment of more than VND 567 billion.
