Protein has the ability to burn body fat

A group of scientists from Kyoto University discovered a protein called GPR120 on February 20, capable of burning fat deposits. from meals with excess protein and fat.

This finding opens hope for the medical community to soon find a new therapy for treating obese patients.

Researchers from Kyoto University Chemical Research Institute conducted this test on two groups of mice: the first group had a protein called GPR 120 and the group had no protein. Both groups of mice were fed a high-fat diet.

The results showed that mice in the group that did not possess the GPR 120 protein had a body weight greater than 15% of the mice with the protein and they also accumulated twice as much body fat in the group of mice that owned the GPR. 120.

In addition, with the help of a European genetic research facility, scientists analyzed the genetic sequence of about 20,000 Europeans (including French and British) and confirmed that those with GPR120 gene were mutations, potential obesity risk is 1.6 times higher than normal people.

Professor Gozo Tsujimoto, head of the research team, concluded that the GPR 120 protein has a special ability to detect fat and help the body burn off that excess fat.

This protein is the basis for medical scientists to develop a drug that activates the protein GPR 120 in the treatment of obesity. The results of this study will soon be published in the prestigious British scientific journal Nature .
