Vietnam Institute of Biological Resources and Biology has organized a research group on plant conservation and training in the North Huong Hoa area, Quang Tri province, from March 13 to April 7, 2006.

Nearly 20 practitioners come from Vietnam's nature reserves, including 3 from Laos and Cambodia. This is the 4th course held in Vietnam with the guidance of botanical research experts from Russia, Laos National University, Cambodia's environmental research and Prof.Dr. Vietnamese biology.

Dr. Nguyen Tien Hiep, Vietnam Biological Research Institute, said: "Our criterion is how to improve management and conservation capacity of plants in Vietnam, in which all practitioners work. The team conducted field surveys, learned about biodiversity at Dakrong Nature Reserve, the natural forests of Bac Huong Hoa and the peak of Muoi Mu with a height of 1550m, discovered many kinds of trees. Medicinal herbs, many types of orchids, including the most beautiful and rare Hoang Thao orchids in Vietnam, they grow mainly in the high mountains of southern Vietnam, flowers bloom for 2-3 months.

In addition, the delegation also took the time to explore the market in A Bung, Ta Rut and Huc Nghi communes of Dakrong Nature Reserve. Collect data and evidence of biological diversity to build Bac Huong Hoa nature reserve (Quang Tri) to request the State to recognize.
