(Photo: about.com) In recent days at Dong Thanh Secondary School (Hamlet 7, Dong Thanh Commune, Hoc Mon District, Ho Chi Minh City), 39 students (HS) have symptoms similar to rubella: itching, rash in the skin such as allergies, fever, diarrhea, sore throat, lymphadenopathy.
At Hoang Hoa Tham Primary School and Son Ca Kindergarten (located next to and opposite Dong Thanh Secondary School), there were seven students with similar diseases.
On the morning of December 1, Dong Thanh Secondary School (about 1,400 students) was temporarily closed for all students to avoid spreading to other children. For students with symptoms of rubella, the health authorities require them to leave school, isolate at home 7-10 days. In addition, there is a pregnant teacher who is also recommended to stay at home to avoid spreading disease from students. On the same day, Ho Chi Minh City Preventive Medicine Center also took samples of patients (blood or throat secretions) of students with diseases to determine rubella.
