Russian scientists prepare harmless aspirin

Siberian scientists have upgraded the quality of aspirin. The new formula allows to double the therapeutic effect of the drug and does not cause irritation to the stomach lining. The side effects of traditional aspirin on the digestive system are likely to lead to stomach ulcers. New aspirin is almost harmless.

Experts of the two Siberia research centers, the Institute of Solid Chemistry and the Institute of Organic Chemistry Novosibirsk, have released aspirin from unpleasant side effects. When used for a long time, acetylsalicylic aci d - known as aspirin - can erode the digestive system gradually, leading to ulcers.

However, people with heart disease are sometimes forced to take aspirin continuously for years. This is an antithrombotic agent. Drugs increase blood circulation and prevent the formation of blood clots. Due to dangerous side effects, cardiologists often try to appoint a limited dose of aspirin.

Now the problem is solved significantly. Siberia scientists found that the acetylsalicylic acid molecule is significantly active if it is linked to the sugars (polysaccharides) from soluble plants. The association allows to reduce the active dose of the drug, limit or even eliminate harmful side effects.

Siberian scientists have synthesized a new generation of drugs - aspirin enriched with sugar-soluble polysaccharides. This sugar substance is derived from the needle of pine Sibiria, which protects the stomach and intestines from harmful effects. For example, sugars promote the body's production of special fatty acids, preventing the growth of erosion and tumors in the digestive organs. In addition, this is also a source of fiber, triggering the development of beneficial intestinal microorganisms.

Experiments with mice showed that aspirin synthesis with water-soluble sugars allowed a two-fold reduction in aspirin doses. At the same time, the blood thinning process is highly effective."According to the study, the drug does not cause changes in the gastric mucosa such as inflammation and corrosion," said Professor Institute of Organic Chemistry Novosibirsk Tatiana Tolstikova, a member of the research team.

Scientists believe that, based on the new generation aspirin will create a series of safe anti-thrombotic drugs.
