Sea water can rise by 6m in the future
In the new study, scientists predict that the sea may rise by up to 6m in the future, threatening many major cities in the world. Even the disaster still happens regardless of the governments' efforts to prevent global warming, according to Reuters.

It is anticipated that sea level can rise by 6m
The study was conducted by a group of US-led international scientists, published on July 9.7.
Major cities such as Beijing (China), London (England) and low tropical islands are all threatened.
Global warming will melt ice blocks on Greenland and the Antarctic . This still happens even when governments try to cut greenhouse gas emissions to limit global warming.

However, the sea level may take centuries to increase by 6 meters, the study's lead author, scientist Andrea Dutton, of the University of Florida (USA) - said.
The level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is now equivalent to 3 million years ago. At that time, sea water was 6m higher than now, Reuters quoted Anders Carlson, co-author and geologist at Oregon State University (USA).
The new study also suggested that 400,000 years ago, seawater is now about 6 to 13 meters higher. The temperature was higher then about 1oC.
In 2013, UN scientists predicted that global warming could push the sea level by 26 to 82cm by the end of the 21st century.
