According to recent research, women who eat a lot of soy-based foods reduce their risk of ovarian and endometrial cancer.
It is known, endometrial cancer and ovarian cancer are affected by hormones like estrogen. While some soy compounds have estrogen-like effects associated with high rates of breast cancer, this study suggests they help reduce the risk of endometrial and ovarian cancer.
Dr. Kwon Myung and colleagues from the National Cancer Center (Korea) analyzed 7 studies of more than 169,000 women, of which 3,516 had 1 in 2 cancers. Most of these studies evaluated soy intake or soy products such as soy milk and soy protein. As a result, the incidence of cancer decreased by 40% among women who ate the most from soy-based foods.
However, according to scientists, more research is needed to determine the optimal content of soy-based food.
