Dr. Graham Colditz at Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis Louis and colleagues at Harvard Medical School in Boston, said benign breast cancer , although not cancer, increases the risk of breast cancer later in life.

The study found that girls aged 9-15 often eat peanut butter or nuts with a lower risk of benign breast disease by the age of 30.

'These findings suggest that peanut butter may help reduce the risk of breast cancer in women, ' Dr. Colditz said.

These findings are based on the health history of more than 9,000 girls in a national scale study from 1996-2001.

Then, between 2005 and 2010, when the study subjects reached the age of 18-30, the researchers noted whether they were diagnosed with benign breast disease confirmed by birth test. set breast or not.

The team found that people who ate peanut butter or nuts twice a week had a 39% lower risk of benign breast disease than those who didn't eat the food.

The findings suggest that beans, lentils, soybeans and corn may also help prevent benign breast disease, but the consumption of these foods in girls above is much lower and so the evidence gathered. It is also less sure.

The research results have been published in the Breast Cancer Research and Treatment.
