Storm Nalgae reduced to level 10

In the morning of October 3, the storm of Nalgae decreased in intensity and level 10, the direction of the storm changed. Meanwhile, the cold air spilled into the North, causing strong winds of level 7 in the Gulf of Tonkin.

According to the Central Hydrometeorological Forecast Center, on October 3 morning, the strong level 10 storm center Nalgae is about 250 km from Hoang Sa archipelago. Day and night, the storm goes mainly westward with a speed of 10-15km per hour. Tomorrow morning (October 4), the storm center is about 160km away from Hai Nam Island (China) with wind speed remaining at level 10.

Thus, contrary to the forecast, the storm did not intensify when it entered the South China Sea but had two levels lower than when crossing Luzon Island (Philippines). On the way, the storm will also sweep through Hainan Island.

In the next two days, the storm swept across Hainan Island, decreased by one level and moved to Nghe An - Quang Binh coast. On the way, the North East Sea area (including the Paracel Islands) has strong winds from level 9 to level 12. In addition, due to the influence of cold air combined with the circulation of typhoon Nalgae in the Gulf of Tonkin there is strong northeast wind 7.

According to Le Thanh Hai, deputy director of the Central Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, there are two reasons for the weakening of the storm, one is due to the impact of cold air from the North; The second is because the storm has gone through a long journey and is no longer at the most active stage. In the coming days, storms cannot level up to level 12-13 as they entered the East Sea. However, the evolution of the storm becomes complicated, the direction is more difficult to predict.

In response to the threat from Nalgae, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai asked localities to always consider the worst, unintentional situation; not just staring at the mind of the storm. Because even a hundred kilometers away from the storm, it is still in dangerous wind."Learn from dealing with the recent storm Nesat, absolutely ban ships and boats from sea," the Deputy Prime Minister said.

In addition, due to the characteristics of reservoirs in the Central region with small capacity, low flood-cutting capacity, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that the Vietnam Electricity Group and the provinces pay special attention to monitoring the development of the storm to have a plan to keep , proper flushing.

According to the Central Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control, until 6 am this morning tallyed, announced 33,325 ships, boats and 860 rafts to know the location and happenings of Typhoon Nalgae. There are currently no boats operating in the Paracel Islands and the North Sea.

Meanwhile, the flood waters of the Cuu Long River, Dong Thap Muoi and Long Xuyen Quadrangles are fluctuating at the top and particularly high flood levels, some places have surpassed the historic flood peaks. Floods have killed 11 people, more than 20,000 houses were flooded, nearly 5,000 hectares of rice crop 3 were completely damaged .
