In the period of 2011-2020, the most important task is to plant 2.6 million hectares of forests, including planting new protective forests, special-use forests of 250,000 hectares, newly planting 1 million hectares of production forests and replanting forests after declaration. the waterfall is 1.35 million ha; 750,000ha regeneration; improving poor natural forest 350,000ha; planting scattered trees is 500 million trees; improving the quality of natural forests, productivity of production forests increased by 25% by 2020 compared to 2011.

Besides focusing on protection and sustainable development for 13,388 million ha of existing forests, 750,000 ha of regenerated forests; 1.25 million hectares of newly planted forests in the period of 2011-2014; By 2015, the forest area will reach about 14, 27 million hectares of forests, and 15.1 million hectares of forests by 2020; substantially reducing the situation of violating the law on forest protection and development; effective promotion of protection functions, protection of ecological environment, biodiversity of forests, contributing to sustainable socio-economic development of the country.

In order to fulfill the objectives of the Plan, sectors and localities focus on promoting propaganda and raising people's awareness in forest protection and development; Strict management, timely adjustment of unreasonable planning of 3 forest types, promoting long-term stable forest allocation to organizations, individuals, households, development planning of processing industry and trade trading forest products in association with building concentrated material plantation areas; continue to promote forestry socialization under the motto of forest protection is the responsibility of all agencies, organizations, households and individuals;

Strengthen the inspection and supervision of the implementation of the law on forest protection and development and promptly and strictly handle violations; promoting research and transfer of science and technology, paying special attention to the study of selecting and creating new varieties with high yield and good quality; strengthen trade promotion activities, develop forestry products market.
