Surprised by the sight of the only poisonous snake in Britain 'crying out'
A scene that makes viewers shudder, but with science is extremely meaningful.
Every phenomenal thing in life will be important to this person, but it is unlikely that others have felt that way. On the contrary, there are things we find normal, even frightening, but to a community it is sacred and meaningful.
This is at least true for the moment below. It was a video taken by photographer Dominic Greves, recording the image is said to be super rare: a young snake coming out of the mucous membrane , breathing the fresh air of nature for the first time.
Specifically, Greves said he initially saw the mother snake lying in the nest. The mother snake is moving, crawling away, leaving a pouch of amniotic fluid with the baby inside. The snake after a few attempts, finally chiseled amniotic sac, crawled out.
The sight of snakes coming out of their wraps can scare many people. However, this moment for science and nature lovers is really meaningful. Because it is the snake adder - the only poison snake in the UK .
"We saw a big snake lying in a rock. The snake was moving, crawled away, and soon we found the young snake in the amniotic sac right where the mother had just left."
"A few minutes later, the serpent squirmed around, went through the amniotic fluid and was officially born."
The snake is about to come out of the amniotic sac.
Reportedly, the snake adder, scientifically known as Vipera berus, is the only poisonous snake in the UK and has an average life span of about 15 years. Because of its rare nature, the British have made a law to protect this snake. In the UK, it is illegal to intentionally injure or kill a snake.
Visually, this snake does not lay eggs but give birth to children. But in fact, they hatch eggs right in the abdomen, so when giving birth may young snakes still attached to the amniotic sac.
"No one in my conservation group has ever seen this scene. There are no similar scenes online including the captive environment, not in the wild like this time." - Greves said.
"This is also the first time after 10 years of working in my UK".
