Scientists at the Sandia National Laboratory are working to develop a new technology that allows them to see through objects so that they can detect dangerous substances in parcels or be hidden beneath the layers. wrapped cloth

This technology is mainly based on the analysis of terahertz radiation. This type of radiation lies in the boundary between the ultra-short wave and the X-ray of the electromagnetic field. By analyzing the emission frequencies of an object, one can find out the physical and chemical properties of the object under consideration.

Lead researcher M.Wanke said the technology could be used to detect explosives, weapons or any other harmful substance no matter how camouflaged. It can also be used to detect toxic substances that pollute the air. However, according to the scientist, the need for a rational basis to apply the above effects of terahertz radiation.
