The fastest elevator in the world runs 111 floors in half a minute

An elevator in Guangzhou, China, set a speed record in the test with a displacement of 1,260 meters per minute.

Hitachi Japan Technologies develops and installs the world's fastest elevators at CTF Financial Center Building, 111 floors, 530m high in Guangzhou, China and New Atlas on June 2.

A lift of 75km / h, or 1,260m / min, of the elevators was recorded by the China National Elevators Quality Supervision and Testing Authority during the test run. At this rate, the elevator can run the height of the building in less than half a minute.

In the May test, the elevator reached a maximum speed of 72km / h, or 1,200m / min. Currently, the elevator is in the final adjustment phase. The speed down the ladder is 36km / h, or 600m / min.

According to Hitachi, high-speed elevators remain safe thanks to equipment such as the active rollers that guide the four up, down, left and right sides of the elevator shaft. These rollers absorb vibration when the elevator moves at high speed.

The elevator also uses pressure adjustment technology to limit tinnitus by reducing the change in air pressure inside the elevator chamber. Elevator brake system made of heat-resistant material.

Once operational, the elevators at CTF Financial Center will only run at a speed of 72 km / h.
