The magic glove, translating the sign of the deaf and mute into words
Currently, gloves translate symbols for deaf and dumb people to translate 24 alphanumeric symbols, translating 10 counts.
Le Ngoc Anh , a fifth-year student, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Da Nang Polytechnic University has just won the first prize at the school-level Scientific Research Competition with the creation of gloves to translate symbols of deaf and mute people into words.
According to Ngoc Anh, I know there are a lot of people who were born unlucky because of the birth defects such as visual impairment, hearing loss, hearing loss, motor disabilities .
For people who are deaf and hard of hearing, communication is the biggest obstacle for them. Symbols are the main language to help them easily communicate with each other.
However, for those who do not learn sign language , communication is difficult. Symbols of people with disabilities are performed by hand and express emotions through the face.
Le Ngoc Anh, a student who makes gloves, translates the symbols of deaf and mute people into words.
Stemming from that fact, Ngoc Anh wanted to build gloves to translate the sign of deaf and dumb people into words, to be sounded through loudspeakers, which helps the communicator easier to understand. If the deaf and dumb person just needs to put on the hand and perform the communication symbol, the speaker will emit the corresponding sound.
Through the study of Ngoc Anh, there were some students studying abroad and inventing sign translation gloves, however, the price was quite expensive. Therefore, Ngoc Anh wants to make a product "made in Vietnam" with a low price.
Gloves translate symbols of deaf and dumb people into words spoken successfully by Le Ngoc Anh.
With funding from the Delegation of Da Nang Polytechnic University, Ngoc Anh had "eaten the girder" for 4 consecutive months just to find out, to create and finally the glove of translating the sign was born.
Last March, attending the school-level Scientific Research Competition, Ngoc Anh's products have surpassed dozens of other innovators to win the first prize.
Ngoc Anh explained, the principle of glove operation is the integration of bending sensors and acceleration sensors , recording posture and hand movement. When moving hands, the data will be transmitted to the processor to check the match of the gesture in the Vietnamese Sign Language system. If the gesture makes sense, it will be converted into speech and played through the speaker.
Simulate glove operation translating the sign of deaf and mute people into words.
Currently, gloves translate symbols for deaf and dumb people to translate 24 alphanumeric symbols, translate 10 countable numbers and have relaxation mode for users.
"The gloves when sold to the market will cost about 300,000 VND. I hope the product will be widely used, breaking communication barriers between deaf and dumb people for normal people, helping them easily integrate. With the community, society, having a more stable, happier job . ", Ngoc Anh shared.
Ngoc Anh expressed, if the units and organizations operating non-profit for deaf and dumb people, they are willing to share the technology to produce.
