The record hot sun in India, the cows fainted in the field

The record hot sunshine in India for decades has made farmers suffer.

Some parts of India are experiencing a 40-47 degree Celsius. Meteorologist Michael Guy told CNN that this year India has seen an unprecedented rise in temperature.

It was so hot that Bihar had to ban cooking from 18:00 to 21:00 to fight forest fires.

Indian officials say groundwater levels are increasingly depleting. Indians will have to wait at least until mid-June when the rain comes. More than 150 Indian activists sent an open letter to the prime minister, expressing concern about the negative impact of drought on the countryside.

According to CNN, the combination of high temperature and low humidity makes India a global hotspot for hot weather diseases. At least 370 people died. In 2015, more than 1,300 people in the state died of heat, while the national figure was 2,500.

More than 10 of India's highest temperature cities are cooperating to find ways to help farmers who cannot afford to use air conditioners. According to Indian officials, 79% of reservoirs have dried up, 75% less water in rivers than the average of the past 10 years.

More than 300 families in western India have migrated to Mumbai because they cannot live in extreme hot weather.

Lack of water causes people to use well water, despite possible digestive diseases.

Nitya Jacob, head of India's water management agency, said the shortage of drinking water mostly occurred in rural areas. The Indian government said 330 million people were affected by the heat.
