The European Space Agency (ESA) stopped contacting the Herschel space telescope and burned its fuel yesterday.

The European Space Operations Center in Germany sent a halt to the Herschel space telescope yesterday at 12:25 GMT. Order to Herschel after 6 seconds. They also launched glass engines to burn off hydrazine in fuel tanks. This is a necessary measure to prevent future risk of explosion, BBC reported.

Now Herschel is flying slowly around the sun and is about 2.14 million km from the earth.

"Herschel is a great space telescope. It never caused too much trouble for us , " said Micha Schmidt, Herschel's chief operating officer.

During the "wandering" around the sun, Herschel continued to charge the batteries so they could power the glass of the computer.

"It will never contact the earth again, but someday we will resume contacting it," said Schmidt.

Herschel telescope, capable of receiving infrared light and short-wavelength types of light in the universe, flew out to Earth in 2009 to observe the process of star formation and evolution of galaxies.

With spherical mirrors of 3.5m in diameter and three extremely advanced devices, it is a telescope capable of receiving the most powerful near-infrared radiation.

But recently liquid helium - the fuel needed for devices and cameras to operate in extremely low temperatures - was exhausted in the Herschel space telescope. With that situation, Herschel became a hot object, which meant it could not observe the sky. After decommissioning, Herschel will not be able to get close to the earth in a few hundred years.
