From a less educated housewife, Pearl Curran, USA, became a famous writer with dozens of valuable works. In particular, she asserted, I did not write these texts, but only copied the " reading " of a woman two centuries ago.

Strange story writing from the other side of the world

Throughout childhood, Pearl L. Pollard (the name of the daughter of Pearl Curran, 1883-1937) is just that she has average intelligence, no special talents or interests and is quite indifferent to learning stories. At 14, shy with friends because she had to repeat a class, Pearl Curran left the high school program and asked to go to work.

Ten years later, she married and began a closed, boring life of a housewife in a working-class poor family. Curran acquaintances who had never seen her talk about literature had never seen this woman take a book in the house. Everything kept calmly for years.

Until one day in July 1913, the neighbors came to play carrying a mechanical board (tables of letters, other characters and an arrow believed to be able to convey information from the world. across). Pearl Curran put his hand in, the arrow began to move between the letters on the board and a message appeared. That's a woman's name: Patience Worth.

Curious, Pearl Curran and his neighbors kept asking questions for Patience Worth via the bridge. Patience Worth said she was a woman who lived in Dorsetshire, England, in 1649 or 1694 then emigrated to the United States and was killed by Indians there.

The writer does not compose

Since the prayer, Pearl Curran suddenly became a different person. For the next 9 years, she stepped into the field of literature and successively produced many novels, several short stories and hundreds of poems. Many of these works are highly appreciated by critics and attract readers' attention for artistic and ideological values.

But what surprised the most, Pearl Curran insisted that he was not the one who wrote these works. All she did was write down every word that Patience Worth " read " in her head or on the mechanical board.

Many scholars at that time believed this explanation because according to Pearl Curran's education and understanding, composing was unimaginable. Moreover, analyzing the language used in her works, about 90% is of the Anglo-Saxon system and 10% of the ancient French is used from the 17th century and earlier. How could a housewife not finish high school, just spend the whole day indoors and never touch books like Pearl Curran could use this language.

Since 1922, the number of works that Pearl Curran has produced is getting less and less. According to her, Patience Worth no longer read for her. Until 1937, when Pearl Curran died, it stopped. Patience Worth doesn't appear anymore, even though there are people who try to use mechanical boards to communicate.

Decades later, people still debate the truthfulness of the story of Patience Worth. Some people still believe that there is indeed such a soul that exists and it has contacted Pearl Curran with a spiritual rope to fulfill the literary dream of unfinished life. On the contrary, many others think it's just a drama to market books.
