Tomatoes, carrots and green vegetables help reduce the risk of asthma
Women who eat a lot of tomatoes, carrots and leafy greens are less likely to have asthma than others, a new study suggests.

At the end of the study, scientists found that people who ate more tomatoes, carrots and leafy greens had less lung disease. Specifically: those who ate the most leafy greens (mainly spinach and lettuce) reduced their risk of asthma by 22%, those who ate a lot of carrots reduced their risk of disease by 20% and those who Eating more tomatoes reduces the risk of disease by 18%. This effect is still noted even in people with other problems such as overweight, excess calories, smoking and vitamin use.
