Two more worms appear to attack Windows

Security experts say that two computer worms have been targeted to exploit the new security vulnerability announced in Windows. However, these computer worms have not spread and spread widely.

Both of the aforementioned computer worms have just been discovered over the weekend. These are malicious software that will break in and abduct systems that make mistakes for building a system of botnet computers that can be remotely controlled. These computer worms can be distributed through AOL's instant messaging service.

Don DeBolt, director of computer security at Computer Associates, said the two new computer worms were all variants of the Cuebot worm that appeared on the Internet last year. New variants of Cuebot worm have been reprogrammed to exploit a newly released serious security flaw in the Windows operating system. Microsoft has released a fix for this security flaw since last Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Microsoft confirmed that both new Cuebot worm variants have not yet spread widely. " This is really a very specific attack, unlike the widespread virus attacks on the Internet as we have seen before ," Stephen Toulouse - program director at the Microsoft Security Technology Unit - affirmed.

Most of the security bugs used by the MS06-040 are primarily targeted at Windows 2000 attacks. The reason is because the code for programming these malware is most effective for the operating system version this act.

To combat the penetration of new types of malware, users of Windows versions are advised to install the patch immediately. All security updates can be downloaded through the Windows Update feature.
