Unique twin sisters

The pair of American twins Sienna and Sierra Bernal is considered unique when one of them only has body size equal to the other half.

Like other twins, the two Bernal girls have the same hair color (blond hair) and are similar in many other physical characteristics. However, the tiny Sienna is only 1 square meter high while its twin sister, the Sierra, rises to 1m55. Sienna also weighs only 16.8kg, almost half of Sierra's weight, 36.7kg.

Since she was in the fetus, Sienna was so small that doctors didn't even realize that her mother would have twins until she was pregnant for 6 months. Ms Chrissy gave birth 3 months earlier than expected.

When born, Sienna weighed less than 0.5kg and suffered from a variety of health problems, including a Dandy Walker heart and heart hole, which caused partial defect in the brain. Even so, she was not diagnosed with congenital dwarfism until she was 6 years old.

Doctors once warned her that Baby Sierra had only 10% chance of surviving after birth. But after 108 days in the intensive care unit, Sierra had grown to the point where he could go home for his family to take care of himself.

Sierra and her twin sister Sienna now live with her parents and brother - Austin, 16, in Houston.

Sisters Sienna have the same interest in shopping, makeup and chatting about boys. However, due to brain defects, Sienna started school until she was 8 years old.

The dwarf girl blurted out: 'Most of the time I don't really care about being different. It really just makes me feel special.

Sierra always looks after me and we do everything - shopping, swimming and singing. She may be bossy but always show me how to swing with the boys, defend me if I'm being teased and get everything when they're too high. '

Chrissy's mother added: 'I treat two girls equally. Sienna really aspires to live and always makes people smile. I am very proud of my twin daughters'.
