It is known that Ms Quaas began learning gymnastics as a child and began attending the first gymnastics competition at 11 years old. After completing his studies, Quaas was quickly able to acquire a gymnastics coach when he was only 20 years old.
Ms Quaas said it was her birth in a family with a sporting tradition that made her exercise, and that gymnastics was the sport of her choice.
Now Johanna Quaas is a famous person in Germany and she is often invited to perform at gymnastics competitions. Her performances always impressed those who witnessed them and it was hard to believe that she was about 90 years old.
As shown, in September 2012, the Guinness Book of Records recognized Johanna Quaas as the world's oldest gymnastics athlete.
