Vietnam will produce vaccines

Currently, Vietnam has produced 8/10 vaccines in the national expanded vaccination program. The remaining two vaccines are being imported, including "5 in 1" vaccines: diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B and Hib. In the next 2 years, Vietnam will produce this "5 in 1" vaccine.

This information was given at the Scientific Conference "Prospects for research and development of vaccine for human diseases in Vietnam" , organized by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Science and Technology on August 28. Currently, 5-in-1 vaccines prevent diseases such as diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, hepatitis B and Hib, which are being developed for both the expanded immunization program and the service injection.

According to Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long, the study of "5 in 1" vaccines is in the research phase on animals and prepared to mix. Currently, Vietnam has produced 8/10 types of vaccines in the national expanded vaccination program. By 2020, make sure this number is 12 types.

In addition, even this year (expected in December 2018) or early next year, there will be 3 other vaccines, which are seasonal flu vaccine, Japanese encephalitis cells and inactivated polio vaccine. is in the process of preparing the application for circulation license.

Nguyen Ngo Quang, Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Training (Ministry of Health) said that the task of completing the production process of seasonal flu vaccines at an industrial scale by the Institute of Vaccines and Medical Biologicals Chairmanship has been accepted to achieve excellent results.
