Vietnam's satellites are in the universe

With four satellites included in the universe, Vietnam has gradually demonstrated its ability to access space technology, serving the needs of socio-economic development and national security.

Vinasat-1. This is the first geostationary satellite in Vietnam (Geostationary satellites are satellites that we observe from the earth, it seems to stand still in the air. The condition for a geostationary satellite is to launch for its equatorial plane lying in the equatorial plane of the earth, moving in the direction of the earth's rotation and having a rotation period equal to the exact rotation of the earth, so it must be at a minimum height of 35,880. km and V = 3.07km / s) . Satellites entered space in 2008 from the launch yard of Kourou, French Guyana. Vinasat-1 satellite project started in 1998 with a total investment of over US $ 300 million. Vinasat-1 has a height of 4m, weighs 2,600kg, it has a lifespan of 15-20 years.

Vinasat-2 is Vietnam's geostationary satellite. It entered the universe on May 16 last year at the launch site of Kourou in Guyana using the Ariane5 ECA rocket. Vinasat-2 has a total cost of 260-280 million USD, approved by the Prime Minister and assigned to VNPT as an investor in December 2009.

Like Vinasat-1, Vinasat-2 project partner is still Lockheed Martin, USA, with the supply of satellites, control station equipment and launch services for telecommunication satellites.

Small F-1 satellite is designed and built by FSpace Space Research Laboratory, FPT University.

F-1 entered the space last July from the HTV-3 spacecraft in Japan. FPT's satellite has the shape of a 10cm cube and weighs 1kg. The F-1 satellite, initiated by FSpace, has been researching and manufacturing since late 2008, with the goal of "living" in space and signaling the earth control station, capturing low-resolution images. (640x480) of the earth and satellite data transfer speeds reach 1,200 bits per second.

However, the satellite has not yet signaled, probably because the satellite's charging circuit has a problem, so it is not supplied with energy from solar panels.

VNREDSat-1 is Vietnam's first earth observation satellite. Satellites are capable of taking photos of all areas of the earth's surface. VNREDSat-1 is designed and manufactured by EADS Astrium Company, France. The satellite was put into orbit on May 7 from the launch yard in Kourou, French Guyana. Yesterday afternoon, the satellite receiving ground station confirmed that VNREDSat-1 operated properly and started its mission in space.
