According to Jeffrey Linder, MD, an internal medicine at the Women's Hospital in Brigham, Boston (USA), sore throats can be cured with home remedies or over-the-counter medicines.

Only in case you find yourself infected with strep throat or other infectious diseases, will your doctor prescribe antibiotics.
