Yahoo added a photo editing tool for Flickr

On December 4, Yahoo officially integrated a new tool that allows users to edit digital photos online directly on the popular Flickr photo sharing website.

Using the new digital photo editing tool on Flickr, users can edit dark brightness, sharpness, color, red-eye correction, formatting, resizing or adding text to photos .

The integrated online photo editing tool in Flickr uses technology from Picnik technology. Last October, Yahoo officially joined forces with Picnik with the goal of bringing "new breath" to Flickr to help entice more users while maintaining the competitiveness of this service with other competitors.

Recently, Yahoo also decided to close Yahoo Photos service to focus on Flickr in order to create a new revenue source to help it overcome difficulties in recent times.

In addition to the free account Flickr also allows users to choose to use the subscription service for a fee of $ 24.95 a year. Using paid services users are allowed to upload photos without restrictions on both quantity and capacity. Free accounts can only upload photos up to 10MB in size. Yahoo expects photo editing tools to help it attract more new users.

However, it seems that Yahoo has gone a step slower than its competitors. Shutterfly, Snapfish of Hewlett-Packard, Kodak Gallery or Google Picasa have long been equipped with a tool to allow users to edit photos online. Most recently, Adobe System, the maker of Photoshop digital image editing software, also announced that it will soon launch an online version of Photoshop.
