According to doctors, this is a rare case of cryptodidymus syndrome , in which twins are conjoined during the mother's pregnancy. In cryptodidymus cases, one of the two fetuses is usually small, underdeveloped and parasitic in its twin.
After the surgery to remove the parasite fetus , the Chinese boy is now in a stable health condition.
