4-year-old baby pregnant in the stomach

Chinese doctors were shocked to discover that a fetus did not grow inside the stomach of a 4-year-old boy, swollen from birth.

The anomaly until recently was discovered when the boy in this Sichuan province had respiratory problems. At the hospital, after discovering the foreign body in the stomach of the patient, the doctors had surgery to remove the fetus.

Local media reported that the fetus has a length and width of about 20cm. It had a clear spine with 4 limbs with fingers and toes.

The fetus also has intestines and its entire structure accounts for about two-thirds of the stomach area of ​​the boy.

According to doctors, this is a rare case of cryptodidymus syndrome , in which twins are conjoined during the mother's pregnancy. In cryptodidymus cases, one of the two fetuses is usually small, underdeveloped and parasitic in its twin.

After the surgery to remove the parasite fetus , the Chinese boy is now in a stable health condition.
