81% of Alvarion's device-integrated WiMAX networks

Sky Light Research, a wireless broadband technology analytics company, has just released a report on the WiMAX market in 2005, saying Alvarion has a market share of 81% of all installations around the world.

Since its launch in mid-2004, Alvarion's BreezeMAX standard WiMAX system has successfully deployed over 180 installations in 80 countries around the world.

In Vietnam, VNPT / VDC, Intel, USAid, Lao Cai People's Committee also agreed to conduct WiMAX testing in Lao Cai. As one of 4 units licensed by the Government to test WiMAX, VNPT / VDC is the first unit to conduct testing.

WiMAX testing in Lao Cai was conducted at frequencies from 3.3 to 3.4 Ghz. In 18 surveyed sites, there are 6 schools, health facilities, People's Committees and small and medium enterprises selected. In particular, a farmer household who does not have a phone or Internet connection is also selected to test WiMAX.
