An asteroid can hit Earth in 2032

The asteroid 2013 TV135 will probably hit Earth on August 26, 2032, and cause a big explosion.

Ukrainian cosmologists have discovered a large asteroid (mass of rock or flying metal in space) that could fall to Earth in 2032.

The asteroid, 410 meters wide, was first discovered last weekend (October 13) by the Crimea Astronomical Observatory, southern Ukraine. This information has been confirmed by the Asteroid Center (MPC), International Astronomical Association. Until October 17, this discovery was verified by five other astronomical research groups from Italy, Spain, Britain and the Republic of Buryatia.

The minimum distance between the trajectory of 2013 TV135 and the Earth is 1.7 million km. According to calculations by scientists, the possibility of 2013 TV135 hitting the Earth on August 26, 2032 is 1/63000. By 2028, scientists will be able to make more accurate statements about the impact of this asteroid on Earth.

Based on the Torino Scale method , the danger level of asteroids and comets for Earth, 2013 TV135 is rated at 1/10. In addition, only one other meteorite received the same rating, while the remaining objects almost had no adverse effects on the Earth. As predicted by astronomers, the 2013 asteroid TV135 crashed into the Earth could cause an explosion equivalent to 2,500 megawatts of TNT, which is 50 times the largest bomb in history.
