Apple upgraded Mac OS X operating system 'Tiger'

On March 13, Apple released the final upgrade for the open source operating system Mac OS 10.4 (codenamed "Tiger") before announcing a completely new version - "Leopard" this spring.

Mac OS X 10.4.9 upgrade version includes patches for .Mac, Bluetooth, iChat, iCal, iSync, standard applications, network features, printing functions and many other issues of Mac OS X .

Apple also repeatedly stressed that this spring, the company will release the next major upgrade for Mac OS X - the "Leopard" code name. It usually takes 12-18 months for every major upgrade for Mac OS X.

The 10.4.9 upgrade also focuses specifically on patching network features and modems. In addition, Apple fixes system performance errors, adds support for WPA2 encryption, fixes system problems, and resolves issues related to "Rosetta".

Patches for "Rosetta" involve the use of LEGO StarWars, Adobe InDesign, H&R Block TaxCut, Big Business' Big Business 5.1.0, and a patch to fix OpenType font display errors.

The patch for Mac OS X 10.4.9 also includes: fixing DVD discs with "tracks" longer than 3 hours; improve the ability to confirm disk images; and integrate all of Apple's recent security upgrades.
