In particular, the turquoise tip of Wilson's paradise bird has no feathers but a fold of bare skin. Along with two long curled tail feathers, it plays an important role in helping the drum appeal to partners.

Like many other paradise birds, only the male has a brilliant appearance. The females have light brown fur with a dark green cap.

To attract the attention of the female, the drum clears the leaves or rubbish to create an arena on the forest floor. In the middle of the flat ground, it will perform by passing from one branch to another, bending the body in many postures, spreading the iridescent feathers of color and singing. Not only shaking his head, arching his neck, upside down, sometimes the drum also opens its mouth in front of the female to convince the partner.

Wilson's paradise bird was discovered in 1850, but it took nearly 150 years, and its confession was recorded in nature by the famous naturalist David Attenborough.
