On the night of 13th and 13th of December 14th, a black snowfall fell on the Oktyabr region of Omsk province.
"Black" snow in Russia
This is the second time this phenomenon has occurred in the central area of the region. Earlier, on the 12th the dark snowflakes fell into the Volzsk area.
The Russian Environmental Administration said that the Omsk branch coal plant and the Omsk branch of the thermal power plant were responsible for the phenomenon.
Currently scientists have come to the place where the phenomenon occurred to get snow samples. According to the initial information, the dark snowflakes do not cause harm to health. However, it is necessary to wait until December 16 to have accurate analysis results.
In August 2012, the Russian Environmental Administration also recorded the phenomenon of white powdered snow falling into the city. Later, this white powder was identified as harmless dust from the Gazpromneft oil plant. This business was later fined for polluting the environment.
In 2007, the area also received a 'golden snow' - the result of a sandstorm from Asia overflowing.
