Although it has only been equipped with the most basic features at this time, Mozilla Firefox 2.0 version of Bon Echo has signaled the next intense battle between open-source browser and Internet Explorer.

The first browser battle was a comparison of each feature between Netscape and Microsoft Internet Explorer. New competition seems to be similar when both Mozilla and Microsoft try to integrate as many features as possible for the browser.

The first "alpha" called this Bon Echo is very different from previous releases of Firefox. For example, the code of Firefox 1.5 Alpha 1 (Deer Park) right after its launch is really stable. In contrast, Bon Echo contains many features that have not been fully tested.

Firefox 2.0 Alpha 1 version has updated the user interface, History folder, Bookmark system, search, RSS and security. It contains an extension management program that can block the operation of files with dangerous tails. Subscribing to and reading feeds (pages that support RSS) also become simpler.

The most noticeable part is the style and color of many of the default, two-year icons of Firefox, which have been redesigned.

According to Mozilla's development roadmap, Alpha 2, expected to appear in May, will be a "complete with all features" version.
