German scientists have built a site to showcase Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park World Natural Heritage at Cologne Zoo in Germany.
There are exhibits of globally valuable specimens of Phong Nha-Ke Bang heritage, especially biodiversity and endemic species.
Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park was recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage in 2004, with a total area of over 85,750ha. Located in the North Truong Son ecoregion, Phong Nha-Ke Bang is rated as one of 238 important ecoregions across the globe, has over 300 caves and is home to more than 1,080 species of animals including 140 mammals, 356 bird species, 162 fish species, 144 amphibian and reptilian species, 50 aquatic animals, 270 butterfly species and 10 primates.
Currently Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park is home to many extremely rare and endangered plants and animals in the world.
