According to the director conference of national survey, map and geographic information agencies held on December 19, Tu Nguyen 3 (Ziyuan 3) satellite will be launched by Truong Chinh 4B rocket from Trung. satellite center of Thai Nguyen, Shanxi province, China.

Tu Nguyen 3 satellite will survey the entire area stretching from 84 degrees north to 84 degrees south and is used to conduct geographic mapping, conducting surveys on land resources, contributing to reducing and preventing natural disasters as well as supporting agricultural activities, preserving water resources, urban planning and other areas.

Tu Nguyen 3 satellite project was started in March 2008. The project also includes gravity satellites, radar satellites and Tu Nguyen 3 satellites, with the aim of collecting geographic information in all meteorological conditions.
