Chinese earthquake, trembling Lao Cai

A strong 4.9 magnitude earthquake in the early morning (May 22) in southern China shocked some areas in the northern mountainous provinces of Vietnam such as Lai Chau and Lao Cai.

Recorded at the Earthquake & Tsunami Warning Center , the Institute of Geophysics , said the earthquake occurred at 3:31 am May 22, near Cat Cuu town, Kim Binh district, Van Nam province (Trung Quoc), about 100 km north of Sa Pa seismic station.
