Con Dao will have wind power plant in 2010
The wind power plant project is implemented on an area of 50 hectares in the area of Chim Chim cape, with a total investment of about 20 million Euro that will go into operation in 2010.
On the morning of December 9, the Aerogie Plus Company (Switzerland), the investor of Con Dao wind power plant project with a capacity of 7.5 MW, held a project introduction ceremony. The investor also signed a principle of purchasing and selling electricity with Con Dao District People's Committee (Ba Ria - Vung Tau).

Currently the investor conducts wind measurement, technical design and plans for transporting super-sized and super-heavy equipment from the mainland to Con Dao. The factory is expected to start in 2009 and go into operation only a year later, because the construction of the factory is mainly installation. The project has a period of operation of about 30 years.
Con Dao district has a diesel power plant, with a capacity of 3 MW only to meet the demand for domestic electricity. The use of wind power plants will be suitable for the ecological environment of Con Dao.
