At Son Tra Nature Reserve (Da Nang), scientists have directly observed and photographed 12 langurs with about 170 five-colored langurs (named in the red book of the world and the world, endangered species). , need protection.

The above 12 groups of langurs are divided into many small flocks, large herds of over 20 heads, small flocks with 6 heads including many males, females and young ones living together in the wild nature. Most of the langurs in the langurs observed by scientists are young. This is a good sign that the langur population is developing very well.

At the end of 2007, Ngo Van Tri - an official of the Institute of Ecological Resources and Biology (Ho Chi Minh City) conducted an independent survey, approached and filmed nearly 2 minutes of film about the life of this langur. in wild nature.

According to Tri, this may be the first films in the world about this species since this subspecies was discovered by botanist, zoologist and zoologist Carl Von Linné (Sweden). in 1771.

The five-colored langur species lives in Bach Ma (TT-Hue).

Red-shanked douc langur is also known as red-shanked douc langur, or five-colored langur. The international monkey monkey researchers still confer this species with the name 'beauty': 'Queen of the langurs'. However, the residential community living close to Son Tra peninsula still calls them quite simply with the pope's names.

It is known that the distribution area of the five-color langur is only Southern Laos and Central Vietnam, in which the five-color langur population at Son Tra peninsula accounts for about 60% of the natural langur population in Vietnam. According to Mr. Tri, the discovery of five-color langur populations in Da Nang, in addition to conservation value, also brings great opportunities for the local tourism industry. However, activities to trap other human mammals are a threat to the survival of the above-mentioned langur populations.
