ABC Science today reported that a large- sized telescope in the Southern European Observatory (Chile) captured the image of the ESO 378-1 nebula , also known as Southern Owl Nebula , a wide ionizing gas sphere. with 4 light years in the constellation Hydra .

The color of the nebula results from the ultraviolet radiation emitted by the dying star. This star ionizes the surrounding shell, causing hydrogen, helium, nitrogen, oxygen and many other elements to burn brightly, like the way electric light illuminates neon bulbs.

When the stars exhausted the materials to burn, preparing to switch to the red dwarf phase, the outer shell of gas will expand and cool. Nuclear fusion ends at the core of the stars and they will experience a powerful explosion no less than supernova explosions .
