According to Todayonline , Thai Minister of Public Health Jurin Laksanavisit said the final test results will be announced around the next Sunday to Tuesday. However, he also said that people should not be concerned because E.coli contaminated with vegetables and fruits is normal, and most strains are harmless.
Mr. Jurin said E.coli was found in 2 kg of avocado samples collected randomly at a cargo checkpoint at Suvarnabhumi airport. He recommends that people clean vegetables or cook them to kill bacteria.
The deadly E.coli outbreak has claimed at least 27 lives and sickened more than 2,900 people in Europe. However, the number of cases recorded has decreased for several days now.
Meanwhile, European experts have yet to find out the cause of this outbreak, after vindicating Spanish cucumbers and German sprouts.
