Scientists have discovered a mechanism of the brain to burn fat after eating, opening up new opportunities in treating obesity.
Scientists at Australia's Monash University have looked at the process of white fat transfer - which is a place of energy storage - to brown fat used to burn energy and radiate heat. Fat of the human body is stored in special cells, called fat cells . These cells can turn from white to brown and vice versa.
People who are obese are because this "switch" is always on, even after eating.
Research shows that when blood glucose levels rise after a meal , the brain signals the metabolism of brown fat so that the body burns up its energy. In contrast, after starvation, the brain directs brown fat-producing cells to turn into white fat cells to store energy.
This complex process is controlled by a mechanism in the brain, like a switch whereby the switch will turn on after starving and turn off after eating to help prevent the increase or decrease. Too much weight.
According to scientists at Monash University's Biomedical Development Institute, people who are obese are due to this "switch" always on, even after eating. As a result, brown fat metabolism is interrupted and energy burns are reduced, leading to increased weight.
