Discovered many new lizards

Scientists in Peru say they have discovered 3 new lizard species, living quite secluded. Previously, people did not care because they thought they were similar to the known lizards.

Researchers from San Marcos University have collaborated with American colleagues from Brigham Young University, saying that despite years of confusion, so far, through analyzing molecular and ecological morphology and other details have identified these as new species. UPI news agency quoted researchers that identifying new species is important to help governments and biological conservation organizations plan to protect them.

Two new species of lizards are named after the ancient Andea civilizations of Chavin and Wari , the third species named after the once Incan rulers, Pachacutec.

Liolaemus pachacutec is found in Pisac, a ruins once built by Pachacutec. The species Liolaemus chavin is found in the area near the center of Chavin culture, where there are many reptile and reptilian animals and animals.
