Discovering new plant species in Vietnam
On April 17, Vietnam Museum of Nature (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) said a new plant species called Moc Huong Nui Chua has been discovered by scientists at Nui Chua National Park ( Ninh Thuận).

According to Dr. Do Van Truong, Vietnam Nature Museum, in the world, the genus Moc Huong (Aristolochia L.) consists of about 600 species, mainly distributed in tropical and subtropical regions, one of the flora groups important, valuable for making scenes and making medicine.
In Vietnam, this genus is known to be about 25 species of 2 subspecies Aristolochia and Siphisia.

While studying the diversity of the genus Moc Huong in Vietnam, scientists from the Vietnam Museum of Nature, Southern Institute of Ecology (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) and staff of Nui Chua National Park, Ninh Thuan province has discovered and described a new species of Aromaticochiaceae in Nui Chua National Park, Ninh Thuan province.
The new plant with scientific name is Moc Huong Nui Chua, Aristolochia nuichuaensis VTDo & HTLuu . Morphological characteristics of new species: with heart-shaped leaflets, inflorescences of up to 20 cm long, the upper part of the flower cylinder cylindrical, elongated and much narrower than the lower part, the only outer surface is purple, the single in white, bell-shaped lips, 4.5 - 5 cm in diameter, lobe not rolled up, white outer surface with many prominent purple burrs, surface in white with many hollow edges and acne rice, elliptical throat, white; gynostemium with 3 pointed lobes .

This is the 8th species of Siphisia subspecies discovered and described recently in Vietnam, bringing the total number of Siphisia subspecies in Vietnam to 16 species.
