Dolphins whistle to remember the same characteristics

Ocean biologists said they discovered dolphins use whistles to remember the characteristics of their fellow humans.

Dolphins use whistles to remember their kind

Based on state-of-the-art equipment, researchers have recorded the sound that dolphins emit when swimming in St. Bay. Andrews, the northeastern coast of Scotland in the summer of 2003-2004. When the dolphins meet, they often exchange whistles.

According to analysts, these whistles have their own sounds and signs, so no dolphin can repeat the same.

In the dolphins, there is always a special whistling sound considered by the leader, which is used to signal other dolphins that can come to gather. In addition, there are sounds that signal when to go for food.

The above study was conducted by researchers Vincent Janik and Nicola Quick of the University of St Andrews.
