In recent days, many people using Yahoo Messenger (YM) messaging software in Vietnam continue to be attacked by various links. Since Gaixinh in April, the BKIS Center has discovered 8 more types of worms taking advantage of the online chat method with 15 variations of them.

Ms. Thanh Huong, an office worker in Hanoi, just typed status (the status line displayed on the right of the nickname) to alert her friends not to click on the link that appears from her nick and complained: " From morning till now. There is nothing to do just because so many people ask about a link sent from my nick to them, the computer screen also constantly pops up a chat window with a link from the nick who knows .

Many YM users are experiencing the same situation as Ms. Huong. In the past 3 days, such things as "No need to give away the elephant in the long time, no more to say, you don't need to worry. How many love you love right through your skin as you fly away . http:// /daokhuc.be "; "If you want to tell us, the needs of the movie will be great. If you want to know, you will be forced to move me . http://daokhuc.be " or " http:/// VuiVeVN. HP.MS <=== How long does it take for the web to move, to you? De ^ ~ thuong . "appears continuously on the chat window that makes the user, if not scene High feeling, easy to trap.

" Although I knew about virus information via YM, this time I didn't expect it to be too simple, just like normal messages, even with an icon, so I was caught off guard ," Ms. Thuy Hang in Ho Chi Minh City expressed. " Now on my computer, when I turn it on, it's a website with flashing red links. I can't turn on Task Manager or call the browser. Even PC has a ticking sound like a bomb. standard of explosion ".

According to Hanoi University of Technology's Network Security Center (BKIS), since August 31, only six types of viruses have been "released" and about 21,000 computers have been infected with new worms. One of the causes of this outbreak is that computer users are still careless, when they receive a link, they "impartial" without knowing where it came from.

The head of BKIS also revealed that the recent disorder was mainly due to 3 students and students in HCMC, Hai Phong and Can Tho. They distributed a total of 6 different virus versions (2 versions of FunniYM, 2 vDkcYM and 2 HpBotYM). All three of them, aged 15-16, used the virus code available and edited it and distributed it online.

Mr. Tran Van Hoa, Head of the High-tech Crime Prevention Department of C15, said that the unit is following the developments of virus spread through YM. " We will coordinate with BKIS Center to clarify these cases and handle them in a timely manner ," Hoa said.

Viruses spread through YM often use the same mechanism: spread based on the user's vulnerability. After successfully infecting a computer, the virus will find people in the victim's YM address book and then send malicious links through the chat window to those addresses. The link is often accompanied by attractive offers to easily trick the victim. The recipient will think that the chat is sent, so click on these web links. Consequently, their computers will also be infected with the virus.
