Five warning images must be printed on cigarette packs

The Ministry of Health has just announced five warning images to print on cigarette packs. The time required to use these images applies from March 17, 2008. This is one of the main contents of regulations on hygiene and safety with cigarettes produced, circulated and consumed in Vietnam, which has just been issued by this agency.

Tobacco produced and circulated for consumption in Vietnam is required to be printed on the packaging one of the five health warning forms prescribed by the Ministry of Health on packaging. The area of ​​health warning images must occupy at least 30% of the surface before and after on each pack of cigarettes.

Text warnings must be printed in colors in contrast to the color of the tobacco product packaging, ensuring easy-to-read, easy-to-read and black border around the health warning. Images must be from 4 colors, resolution of 300 dpi or more and must be printed on the main faces of the direct packaging of tobacco products.

Each health warning form is used alternately every 2 years on the packaging of the product.

In addition, the text also stipulates that the nicotine / cigarette content applied in 2008 is 2.0 mg. This ratio will gradually decrease to 1.4 mg in 2014, and prohibit the use of the Ministry's external additives allowed in tobacco production, processing and preservation.

Time to implement this regulation starts from March 17, 2008. Two years later, the Ministry of Health will stipulate a specific time to impose mandatory health and text warnings.
