Heavy rain in Pakistan killed at least 32 people
Pakistani television on August 23 said heavy rains caused floods in the past 24 hours in areas of Northwest, East and North Pakistan that killed at least 32 people and some were injured.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwest Pakistan suffered the most damage, with rainfall of up to 140mm, nine deaths and 11 injuries.
The house was destroyed after heavy rain in Nowshera, Pakistan on August 22.
In Mansehra area, rain collapsed some houses, causing six deaths and 11 injuries. Floods also washed away cattle, affecting harvest on thousands of hectares of land. The provincial government has declared a state of emergency and promoted relief activities.
Floods washed away at least four people in the Northwest tribal area and two in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir. Many villages in eastern Punjab province were flooded, killing two people.
Pakistan weather forecast agency said it will continue to have heavy rain in the capital Islamabad and Punjab province in the next 24 hours.
During the rainy season from July to September, floods often occur in Pakistan.
The flood in 2010 washed away 20% of the land, killing 1,540 people and injuring 2,088 people. The 2011 flood also killed 270 people in southern Sindh province, destroying 1.2 million homes and evacuating at least 5.3 million people.
