Published by the manufacturer as the best solution for genuine ink usage, while still saving money, it uses only a black ink cartridge, priced at VND 112,000, to print up to 450 pages and a three-color ink cartridge, VND 144,000 for 400 pages.

On the Vietnamese market today, the average price of a refilled toner cartridge is about 100,000 VND. Inkjet printers usually have a black ink cartridge and a coordinated color box, or split into 3 or 5 individual color cartridges, so the price is at least 200,000 VND for a refilled ink.

Buying a printer with many people is possible because the price is not high, but most people have difficulty using it frequently because of the high cost of ink. Therefore, many people have chosen to use ink refill. In a recent survey by HP, nearly 40% of consumers reported having used ink refilled when the printer ran out of ink.

QualityLogic, one of the world's largest independent quality control organizations, recently compared HP's inkjet cartridges with the ink cartridges poured in the top four kiosk systems in the US. The results show that genuine color ink and black ink cartridges print more pages 97% and 34% respectively than other refilled inks.

The QualityLogic survey also showed that genuine inkjet cartridges produce 30% higher quality prints than tested ink cartridges. Genuine black and monochrome laser toner cartridges are 9 times more reliable and inkjet color ink cartridges are 50 times more reliable than the leading brands of the "edible" ink market.

Meanwhile, according to HP's announcement, their inkjet cartridges are designed to be disposable. If reused, the spray tip may be damaged, forming a line on the printed page. Ink pump operators cannot copy the manufacturer's patented ink formula, and they must find another way. Consequently, non-genuine ink may not work well and produce significantly worse quality, such as smudging and dirty.

HP also said that the use of loaded ink cartridges is more harmful to laser printers, because the price of this type of equipment is quite high, users do not always have conditions to invest again. And in fact in Vietnam, many laser machines are damaged by using compatible ink or refilled ink.
