With 314 new viruses appearing this month, on average more than 10 new viruses / day, nearly 5 times higher than the rate of virus appeared in 2006. According to BKIS, 880 new viruses appeared in 2006 with the average 2.4 new viruses every day, nearly 4 times higher than 2005 figures. More than 16 million computers are infected with viruses, the average damage caused by computer viruses to each user, according to calculations of BKIS, estimated at VND 488,000 / year.
Even in January 2007, there were 376,000 computers infected with spyware (spyware) and adware (illegal adware). Most cases are infected with these spyware and adware, according to BKIS, have accessed malicious websites. It is worth mentioning that when users encounter a problem with spyware, adware, users often choose the solution is to reinstall the computer. This is an ineffective way of handling because users may lose important data due to errors that occur during the installation process.
According to BKIS statistics, Flashy continues to be the most contagious virus in Vietnam during the month. This USB-based virus has infected more than 1.1 million computers in Vietnam since its inception.
