After Centrino, which supports wireless networking for laptops, and Viiv for home entertainment computers, Intel may be preparing to introduce a third brand for the enterprise system.

" We are considering whether to do something in this area, " said Anand Chandrasekher, Intel's deputy director.

Although not affirming, Chandrasekher reiterated that, as soon as Centrino and Viiv were not officially launched, Intel described them as platforms to help make large volumes easier. Chandrasekher then revealed that the new platform will integrate many technological features that they believe will be central to the enterprise environment, such as management, security and virtualization capabilities.

Launching an independent brand for the enterprise system is a big step in asserting that Intel is not only a processor, but a platform to support it. Support different uses of computers.

This Intel platform technology began to emerge from the corporate reorganization of Paul Otellini, Intel CEO, in 2005.

Logically, the timing of the new brand appears to be when the Averill enterprise computing platform is launched, expected in the third quarter of 2006. Averill is a combination of dual-core processor for Conroe desktop, Broadwater chipset and 1 Gb Ethernet network per second.

The Averill system is also equipped with dynamic management technology (Active Management Technology), remote management support and virtualization technology (Virtualization Technology), allowing computers to run multiple operating systems in separate zones.
